Jones Cut Trail
On this 1.5-mile hike, you’ll navigate your way into the heart of the maritime forest on Big Talbot Island! Explore the thick, green forest that was once home to the Timucua. Although this trail isn’t the easiest to find, once you start, you’ll follow an old forest road that’s broad enough for your group to walk side-by-side. Enjoy beautiful bay trees, southern magnolias, and live oaks along the journey!
Amelia Island State Park
Listen for the thud of horse’s hooves when you hike around Amelia Island State Park. With over 200 acres to explore, Amelia Island State Park is a popular spot to hike and hang out among locals and visitors alike. It’s also the only Florida State Park where you can ride horses on the beach! Take on the sand with your family and hike around the beautiful Amelia Island State Park for an afternoon.
Big Talbot Bluffs Beach Walk
Make sure it’s low tide when you hike this one-mile trail. If it’s high tide, you won’t have access. Take in amazing views of the Atlantic Ocean, and watch fishers cast off of the shore. There are plenty of picnic tables all around, so you can stop for lunch before, during, or after your hike. This unusual beach attracts visitors constantly, so make sure to bring your camera to get some good shots!
